More about Rod Chase:
Rod Chase uses a number of references for his pieces. As well as first hand inspiration and hundreds of his own photographs, Rod also selects carefully chosen photographic reference material from the present and the past to help create the perfect mood for his scenes. Central Park at Night is a wonderfully evocative winter scene showing the city lights reflected in the water of the park’s waterways and the snow-capped trees are translucent and sparkling. It really is testament to Rod’s skill that scenes such as this and Glory San Pietro with its city lights reflecting in the harbour waters, are so exquisitely detailed that it requires real scrutiny to separate these paintings from their photographic counterparts. Rod even considers how the photograph was originally taken, whether a panorama or a detail.
As well as these beautifully detailed paintings, Rod Chase’s prints include specially designed glass prints with a glittered resin applied to the embellished glass giving sparkling highlights to his winter scenes as in New York Winter Nights – MP58. These special editions add an extra dimension to these already extraordinary pieces. The embellishments on these pieces are subtle and give such a new dimension to the piece that you may find that guests spend more time looking deep into the art on your walls and little time in chat but that’s what you have to expect if you choose a piece of Rod Chase’s work!
Rod’s work is instantly recognisable and his paintings of Italy, New York and Washington DC are hugely popular, and we are fortunate to have a number of these pieces available here in a number of different sizes and formats at great prices.
